Squid behavior on Wetpixel

Footage captured by an MBARI ROV of the deep-sea squid Grimalditeuthis bonplandi shows the animal flapping and fluttering its tentacles, as if the limbs were swimming on their own. It is proposed that these can be used as lures to attract its prey of crustaceans and other cephlapods. This behavior has been described in a paper published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society.
