Lacie has announced two new portable SSD drives aimed at creatives. Both can deliver read speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s and write speeds up to 1,000 MB/s, and are available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities. They use USB 3.2 and are compatible with Windows, Mac and iPad. The SSD Secure has integrated hardware encryption for adde security.
Western Digital has announced two new portable drives specifically designed for photographers and videographers. The SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD offers IP55 water and dust resistance with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface and reads speeds up to 550 MB/s and the SanDisk My Passport Wireless SSD offers an SSD drive with an enclosure with an integrated wifi connection and a 6700mAh battery.
G-Technology has announced a series of compact, rugged SSD drives specifically designed for traveling image makers. Designed primarily for Mac, the drives are available in 500GB, 1IB and 2TB capacities, and have a USB-C interface with transfer speed sup to a reported 560MB/s.
