Inon are shipping two conversion lenses for use with the Sony RX0 ultra-compact camera housed in the Sony MPK-HSR1 waterproof housing. The UWL-100 28M55 offers a minimum focus distance of 118mm (4.6 in) with an FOV of 100°. The UCL-G165 M55 offers a minimum focus distance of 96mm (3.8 in). Both attach via the 55mm thread on the housing.
Sony Europe has announced a video competition for aspirant or established filmmakers. Successful applicants will be loaned RX0 pro action cams in order to create a video that will then be judged. Pitches need to be submitted by 30 April with the actual video entries sent in by 31 May.
Sony has announced a new pro level action cam called the RX0. It has a 1-inch, 15.3-megapixel Exmor RS sensor and features internal recording of XAVC or AVCHD format HD footage at up to 960/1000 fps super slow motion. Clean 4K is available via HDMI. ISO range is selectable from 80 to 12800 and the display features peaking to help critical focus. The RX0 is compact and lightweight and is waterproof to 10m (33 ft). The MPK-HSR1 housing extends the depth rating to 100m (330 ft).
