Disturbing underwater images from Hawaii’s molasses spill

Honolulu molasses

On September 9 approximately 233,000 of Molasses spilled into Honolulu Harbor from a faulty pipeline used to transport molasses onto cargo ships by Matson Navigation Company. The spill turned the water a murky brown and has been the cause of mass marine life deaths inside of the harbor and beyond.

Local diver Roger Smith, owner of Cool Blue Scuba, shot some underwater footage to give a view of the level of devastation.
